The RNCCT (Rede Nacional de Cuidados Continuados Integrados – National Network of Long-Term Integrated Care) is an instrument created in 2006 (Decree Law no 101/2006) by the Ministries of social affairs. This context dictates the emergence of long-term care provided in conjunction with social institutions, as is the case of the Community Centre and the Centro de Saúde da Parede (Health Care Centre of Parede).
